Review on Palm PVG100 Premium Unlocked Titanium by John Milligan

For years I've been apprehensive about buying the smartphone I envisioned as a small, compact, and reliable communication device. Phones kept getting bigger, ostensibly for those who would happily waste their lives on them, while I was just looking for a reliable phone with a speech-to-text capability that would get rid of all that inefficient nonsense. Eventually I discovered the Palm phone and was happy to try it out. Unfortunately, while it has served us well, Google's speech-to-text software is flawed. It writes only one sentence at a time. Strangely, when you try to continue, the last word of the previous sentence is deleted. I wanted this phone to work so badly that I tried three in total - one of which didn't set up properly and the other two unfortunately had a speech-to-text defect. I find it odd that Palm didn't address this early on, the feature would probably be more important on a smaller phone where text input might be an issue. In my opinion, what tens of millions of people need first and foremost is a communication device that doesn't feel like a bulky anchor in their pocket. I have computers to surf the web and need a few more on my phone. If Palm can fix this critical bug, I'll be back. Size and feel are really cool - they just didn't meet one criterion that was important to me.
