I bought this vacuum in a feeble attempt to control the dog hair situation in my home. This is my first major vacuum purchase so I don't have a lot to compare it to but if it was easy to trade it for a competitor I'd probably take a chance. This vacuum does the job and I love it, but it got me thinking about what else is out there. Cons: The whole device isn't as nimble as I'd hoped, and some attachments feel pointless. Removing the dust bucket is also a bit counterintuitive and I have to go through each room twice to really collect everything. My biggest gripe is that the main handle pops out fairly easily (I'm not sure for what purpose), and then clipping it back in can be a problem; You'll think it's fixed at the back and then turn to the car and just hold on to the handle while the rest crashes to the ground (at least it's solid!). In addition, the hair removal spectrum is limited by the suction power of the hose. Even if you use a wide brush head, any attempt to remove dog hair from a bed sheet or unpinned fabric will simply be sucked up the hose. I still have to use my smaller handheld vacuum to remove dog hair from comforters and sheets or anything where the fabric isn't very tight. Pros: It really sucks up dog hair and it's very easy to stop mid-push when you've cleaned the floor, pull out a bit of the hose and start vacuuming things behind/under things. I also like the fact that you don't have to use bags, the dust box is transparent (oddly nice to see all the crap you just vacuumed up) and it's easy to remove accidentally vacuumed items (e.g. hair stuff). / to save , socks) without vacuum cleaner damage. I accidentally sucked in a couple of socks and it took me less than 90 seconds to fish them out of the tube or dust bag as there are multiple places you can easily mount/dismount the tube structure. I also like that the hose seems to be quite long and the power cord is also very long; I can pretty much cover my entire 800 square foot space with 2 bedrooms simply by plugging them into one central location. Overall I'm not sure this is a great vacuum for the price as I just don't have a lot of experience. with vacuum.
