Review on πŸ“‘ High-Performance Stainless Steel CB Antenna Spring with Coupling Stud - Hustler / New-Tronics Antenna Corp. No. SSM-3 by Fahmi Manna

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as difficult as described. The mounting pin is not attached or glued to the bottom of the spring.

Didn't look like the picture and didn't feel durable. Not worth the money. Ordered two for Sirio Twin 5ft logs. I was able to bend both of them by hand fairly easily, almost as easily as cheap truck stop brands. Both look chrome as described and not stainless steel. Another issue I noticed and definitely don't like is that the threaded bolt on the bottom is NOT attached to the spring at all. You can remove it by unscrewing it effortlessly with your fingers. As you screw the spring in, the stud will start to thread into the adapter (another Hustler product) and then snap into place, and the spring will start to screw further onto the stud. How many threads does the bracket that holds the spring and antenna have? Beats me. had to do a little work to feel comfortable enough to keep the antenna installed. Not satisfied with the bottom nut either. The standard wrenches (19mm or 3/4) are too thick to fit between the lower spring and the bracket. A thicker nut would definitely work better. Must have sent them back. Unless the seller sends two replacement units which are actually robust as others have signed up. on my SWR meter on channel 1 and 1 1:1 on channel 40. The connection should be good.
