This is the pen you need.

Very strong spring. Holds my 102" whip securely. I previously ordered a ProComm Heavy Duty spring and returned it promptly. It's not heavy. The spring was weak and nearly flattened my whip at 60 mph. This spring holds the antenna at 70 mph almost vertical.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Something different

That's the real deal.

I would call this a medium spring, not as hard as I would like (I have a 7ft whip). Inside the spring is the necessary braid. This is necessary because as the spring bends, the coils of the spring no longer touch and the spring begins to act like an antenna coil and detune the antenna.

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • almost everything is there

Good quality and comes with a bolt which some springs don't have.

Works great, survived the rainy and snowy season without rusting, so good stainless steel quality. The spring has a 5 foot firestik antenna and handles 70 mph winds well. I would recommend and buy this Hustler SSM-3 Antenna Spring again.

Pros
  • Useful not only for the intended purpose
Cons
  • Negative impression

Spring could be more helpful.

Well, it's stainless steel and pretty stiff, but I've seen a much larger spring that basically keeps the Hustler's antenna up and down vertically at speed. Unfortunately, it flexes backwards while driving. I have to stretch my antenna to keep it from folding back. It would be nice if the spring was a lot bigger and stiffer - I'd be willing to pay more for it.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons
  • A Long Wait

Excellent spring, good for radio antennas

very durable. Almost too strong for what I need. I have 4 feet of fiberglass on this spring. Even at 80 km/h the antenna is pointed straight up. It will flex with branches overhead but I always worry about my attachment point as I have a spring on the L bracket. No TX/RX or SWR issues. A few months have passed, still no rust, no stains on the surface.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • almost never

Powerful spring for heavy glass fiber antennas!

I made this purchase after the heavy duty SS-3H spring coupled with the 4 foot Firestik antenna on the back of my 3rd Gen 4Runner started flexing and wobbling wildly , while moving at just 70 miles per hour. When I got to my destination I immediately ordered the CSM-3 spring and what a difference! The antenna never bent backwards more than 5 degrees, even in strong gusts of wind! Very satisfied, RECOMMEND!

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Expensive

Didn't look like the picture and didn't feel durable. Not worth the money. Ordered two for Sirio Twin 5ft logs. I was able to bend both of them by hand fairly easily, almost as easily as cheap truck stop brands. Both look chrome as described and not stainless steel. Another issue I noticed and definitely don't like is that the threaded bolt on the bottom is NOT attached to the spring at all. You can remove it by unscrewing it effortlessly with your fingers. As you screw the spring in, the stud…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Repair
