Review on ⚡️ Leviton 48643-E Non Grounding Plug - Reliable 15 Amp, 125 Volt, Black Outlet by Shawn Tolbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best replacement plug ever and the easiest to install. I just ordered another one!

I'm not an electrical engineer, but I'm almost 69 and have changed a lot of plugs. I have found this to be the easiest to install and safest and now the low voltage bulb used in the old house outperforms most others. It was extremely easy to pry open with a single screwdriver, the contact screws were exposed easily enough to attach the stripped wires very securely and attach them very tightly. This is a non polarized 2 prong plug as advertised and to me that is a plus not a minus. Now when I use LED bulbs, the voltage is very low, but after the previous connector failed, I am very happy that the wires are far apart and the connector is very well insulated. That's great! For new customers: Strip the cable wires about 1/2 inch, open the new connector by prying on both sides with a screwdriver. Pull out the connector with a wire stripper. We unscrew the two contacts. Using your fingers, twist the individual tabs of the exposed wires and bend them into a loop to feed them through the open terminal screws so that they pull in the direction of tightening as the screw terminals are tightened. Pull the twisted bare wires into place around the exposed contact screws. Retighten the screws and then pull the plug down to restore it to its original shape. While holding the blades of the fork, pull the lid down firmly. If necessary, tighten the cap around the two tabs you opened at the beginning. The fork has become very stable. The new contacts are very strong and strong, and the connector is BETTER than the factory new one!
