Before I placed an order I checked and checked the item. Hours and hours passed with the same result as everyone else - it doesn't work. Underground cable for outdoor lighting. The cables were buried many years ago and the previous owners did. Suddenly stopped working, thinking something might have cut the line. Disconnected from circuit breakers and the power end clamped to unloaded lines of power cables. The receiver sent a strong signal directly down the wire and did so up to about 15 feet away. Static and randomly placed tones. There is no hard tone to follow. I tried running the end in the opposite direction to find a possible gap between them. The same random noise and tone not following any possible power line. Needless to say, you get what you pay for. Maybe this product would be better for 5ft and shorter distances but forget it after that. Return this item for a refund.
