It's enamel coated wire
It seems to be the proper gauge and it's coated in enamel. Did not have any trouble winding a magnet for a science project. However, did not test whether the coating held up or if any windings were shorted out.
Pros
- Excellent coating, i use it for circuit board trace repairs, no short circuits
Cons
- Prone to tangling and kinking during use
