These stainless pots are lacquered.

I am very dissatisfied with these pans. They were discolored when I first used them. I've used Brillo but to no avail. I called Calphalon and they told me that the stainless steel isn't non-stick (in other words, rust-free stains), which I've never found on previous brands of pots I've had. I was told to buy the Bar Keepers Friend cleaner and was given additional instructions which I followed. The bartenders helped add shine but didn't remove the "stains".
