Jury is still out. Could use improvements.

Overall this 20" two stage filter seems like it will be very effective for the price. However. These units could greatly benefit from simple design changes.1) The unit is way too heavy for the included bracket either when full of water or just dry filters. You could simply put a few triangles vertically across the top mount to keep it square.welded, rivit.heck even stamped metal that is tab inserted and folded over. Notice how the weight of the filters make them rock inward towards the wall? The top plate bends too easily. As it moves in/out just touching it, I suspect this will lead to greater leaks.more on that below.2) Connection manifold needs to be changed out to brass. I and everyone who has installed these would probably easily pay a bit more for solid connections. Directions said 12-15 layers of teflon tape on inputs.what?!?!?! Guess what.even at 15 following directions and squeezing the 1st 8 layers before applying the rest didn't help. Still leaked annoying drips on both sides requiring cutting copper and installing unions. Total pain. You know what didn't leak? The brass bodied sediment filter right next to it. Solid as a rock with 4-5 layers of teflon tape.3) Leaks, leaks and more leaks. As mentioned, both ends leaked with 15 layers teflon. Had to redo one side once and the other twice. Ended up putting 16 layers (I realize how crazy that sounds) on the edge of the fitting and overlap another 15-16 in a row right behind it. The entire 1" stub of copper threads could still be screwed in by hand without using a wrench until the last 1/4 turn. Then the fun started.leaked between the two filter bodies. Undo everything, remove bolts and waste the remainder of a roll of teflon on the inside connection. More time and annoyance than expense.4) Filter weight and installation: 20" are heavy.more so if they are full of water. There is a round gasket at the bottom of the iron filter. It managed to stay in place while inserting the filter 1 of out 3 tries. I'm assuming it worked because like the game "operation," I didn't knock the filter against the sides that one time using Herculean finger tip strength (almost no room around filter to hold it when it gets almost seated) when installing it. Having a clear housing would make this so much easier to verify the seal is in place and not sitting off to one side. You can't see below the iron filter cartridge to know you got it right.5) Extend the intake port stub 1/2" inch! The reviewer below was spot on that you could install a spin down filter directly if the port just stuck out further.6) Drain valve.couldn't there be a drain valve on the 20" bodies similar to the spin down filter? I would even consider a plastic plug with an o-ring.something to dump the water before removing the filter would be ideal.Overall it got installed leak free after several attempts. I ran the water for a good 10 minutes and flushed out the black silt like material I'm assuming was the charcoal filter getting it's first rinse. After that the water rotten egg smell was 100% gone and the water was very clear, so I'm hopeful. Just amazing how simple changes could make this device so much easier to install and easier to operate. The mount bracket is the big concern.unless you are being super supportive when getting the filter off, I suspect it will try to swing in/out from the wall slightly and start the whole connection leaking issue again. Give me a solid bracket and consider putting the key holes at 16" for on-center stud mounting!
