Did not meet expectaions:

Foremost, our iron content as sampled is well below 3.0 ppm. And homes in our area are unfiltered – I just prefer to minimize iron content all together. Our filter system was in place for a little over a year. Performance of the system was insufficient in reducing the iron content of my water. I had samples obtained by two separate organizations, each sampling obtained an unfiltered sample as well as a filtered sample. Per both analyses, the filter only reduced iron content by 42 percent and was not even close to the marketed "3.0 ppm down to 0.01 ppm”. I experienced staining on my fixtures, even with fresh filter elements. Notwithstanding the reduced effectiveness, applying the publicized "45,000 gallons at 3.0 ppm iron level”, I should have had a filter life of well over 12 months, closer to 18 months; based on a current usage rate was 200 gallons day (we use somewhat less). However for the in service period of 15 months, I expended 3 filters just to obtain the 42 percent effectiveness; at $90 a filter. So this month, I removed the filter system and installed a softening system. Summarizing, the iSpring system was inadequate for my application.Other items of note: 1. Installation and hardware – compact and straightforward to install. I had mine professionally installed (new home warranty work concerns). I had zero leaks from the unit, all iSpring fittings and vent fixtures worked faultlessly. 2. Customer support – super professional and responsive. When I contacted them last year, they suggested ideas, and even shipped out an upgraded filter element – their support was a key factor in staying with the system this long. I doubt you will find any company more responsive. 3. Carbon filter – If you are considering the carbon filter, it definitely met my expectations; long service life, zero reduction in flow. 4. Mounting bracket – I had concerns about this, but the bracket supporting the double filter housing was able to support the weight of both. It does still require bracing between the wall and the housing to lessen the torsion of the filter assembly toward the wall. Better yet, use flexible connections to the filter. 5. Filter replacement – removing the filter housing is problematical – lots of colorful metaphors, a two person job (counter torque) to start unthreading it. It may require some "mechanical advantage”. After it was loosened off the gasket though, I was able to complete housing removal by hand. Once disassembled, I identified no thread damage; so I can only deduce the O-rings and gaskets are doing their job. Even the company installing our softener system was unable to disassemble in order to drain the water weight. Notice: the filter housings were installed using only the supplied plastic wrench, and not over torqued, so just be prepared for a growth in your vocabulary during filter element replacements.Closing: The iron manganese filter reduces the iron content, but don’t expect an awe-inspiring decrease. And based on our experience, don’t expect a 45,000 gallon filter element life. I recommend researching a water softening (with iron reduction) system before you spend over $600 for less performance. This review is intended for prospective purchasers and is not to be used, in whole or in part, for advertising of any kind.
