TL;DR: This harness is for dogs, not cats. between subjects. For my homemade 9 lb short hair harness, a very small one fits better around the neck, but in general a small is better as the harness itself isn't really designed for cats. Cats have a longer but thinner torso than dogs, so their legs will be compressed by a properly sized dog harness, which is absolutely true for this harness. The small harness is loose in both the neck and torso area (see protruding straps on the back in the first photo), but is slightly longer and allows more freedom of movement. Is she reliable? Absolutely. Assuming the clips on the back are in place and your cat isn't chewing through a cheap leash. I'm not worried about him slipping out when I'm not looking, but he tends to try to wriggle out and sometimes ends up getting his foot stuck between the harnesses on his body. May I recommend it? ? no It's not designed for cats, or I'd bet anything, but more of a dog harness design stolen from a Chinese company and sold on Revain under a range of pointless throwaway brands.
