The ammeter worked properly. The read response lags slightly with rapid current changes and then converges to a constant value when the current stabilizes. This gave him good control of the output of a 220V solid state relay controlled by an Auber power regulator to power the heating element. Ironically, unlike this one, the ammeter sold and used with its components by Auber did not work.
