Generators should have their oil changed at the beginning (or end) of each season. Of course you drive yours every year, repair it professionally and change the oil? As a result, even French-era generators run smoothly during hurricanes 20 years later. Oil changes have always been an issue. On my Generac, the oil drain on a Suzuki engine is on the flat underside of the crank, on a simple NPT connector, and is recessed next to the wheel and alternator support frame. I haven't invented a way to replace them in 20 years. Oil without dirt and cleaning. urge Fear. Then I came across these Fumoto quick change valves on the internet. For my NPT connector I had to adapt this to their ADP-710 adapter. This combo does three things for me: (1) The swing-out lever keeps my finger off the oil like it was before removing a simple square-ended NPT metal plug (2). ) The length in this case (which I would invent if needed) gives the valve outlet past the stem frame - so if I didn't do anything the oil wouldn't get all the way over the frame anyway. (3) The exit - on this model - is the end of the tube. So I can attach a piece of hose and push the oil even further. Too bad I didn't know that 20 years ago. I'm considering buying matching models or my Tundra and our Odyssey to make these changes less of a hassle.
