First off I had no idea about Black and Decker vacuums. So seeing that was a surprise and I was very interested! I had an old handheld vacuum that was terrible for my needs, had terrible suction and looked like a cheap toy. I was looking for a compact handheld vacuum that would be ideal for multi-story spaces and have a compact design. After several competitors and comparisons, I decided on the Airswivel. Here's my detailed review - Design: I'd be lying if I said the design of this device doesn't pull me into it. Looks way more expensive than it is. In fact, it's stylistically comparable to my parents' Shark Navigator Swivel Plus (which is twice the price of this guy). Typically, vacuums in this price range look boring and feel awfully small or cheap. Not this one, despite being all plastic it looks good despite being feather light (only 9lbs). The metal and rubber handle is a plus and really enhances the look. Rubber wheels are a plus for hardwood floors and tiles! The bristles of both the brush and the pet tool are hard to the touch. Features: I love that it includes a pet tool. It's perfect for my butterfly chair and pillow. I also have a rug by the front door and it works great for that. I appreciate the 3-in-1 tool and love its mechanics, where the slider and flap are activated for any type of accessory you want (brush, crevice tool or upholstery). Keep in mind that I bought a versatile model and this particular model has a much longer hose and power cord than the Lite and Pet models. And that's great. Suction power and performance: Look, I had my doubts about this guy when I unpacked it. I definitely wasn't sure it could give my carpet the deep cleaning it needed just because of its size and height (they made it really compact!). But boy, was I wrong. The thing is strong! The moment I turned it on, it penetrated my carpet so deeply that it took little effort to push! Sure, it's a workout, but that means it really bites your rug. It also works great on my tile floor in the rest of my space. He obviously vacuumed up all the dust, dirt and debris around him. Wonderful. All devices also have excellent hose suction. The rotation feature is so good for my space that there are a lot of tight corners. Navigating this thing was smooth. It was a bit stiffer on my mat as the suction made the glide less smooth but still workable. It's a bit disappointing that the brush doesn't turn off, but I have to watch out for the price. Normally this function is not visible in this area, but there is no rotation function either, and at least I understood it. So much dirt and dust was kicked up in just one session that I couldn't believe I was living in this dirt. The dust bag dispenser is easy to use and convenient for regular use. In general, it cleans and cleans very well! Small foot makes it easy to store and non-invasive after you finish cleaning. Bonuses: An extra strap was included in the box, which comes in handy when any accidents happen. All filters are washable, which limits the time and money spent ordering new filters. Conclusion: All in all, the B+D Airswivel is a great vacuum cleaner under β¬50. It gives carpets and rugs a beautiful deep clean, cleans hard floors and leaves them spotless. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a compact vacuum cleaner with good performance. I see this works best in smaller spaces like apartments. The cleaning path is not the widest in large houses. Remember. The rest of the vacuum cleaner is excellent.
