Great Hiking Shoes

I started running 3-4 miles a day during COVID and I have no plans to break the habit anytime soon. At 37 I didn't really think I would need special hiking shoes but this helped me. I also run about 5 km 1-3 times a week. At one point I was using a fairly new but cheap pair of running shoes and an old pair of basketball shoes for walking (the soles were slippery on the balls of my feet). I had a bad calf injury on my left foot (mainly from running in cheap running shoes I think). At one point I also had a thigh muscle irritation and a slight sprained knee. It took me about a month of physical activity as I could barely walk from the kitchen to my living room considering how bad the shin band had gotten. I knew I wanted to improve my shoe game to avoid re-injury when I was ready to get physically active again. I bought these shoes and went for walks again almost every day while the shin was still a bit sore until it warmed up. I couldn't tell that nothing has deteriorated in my walks in these shoes (unlike my worn-out basketball shoes). I also ended up buying a pair of $200 sneakers. It's been 3 months since I took my monthly break. The shin is gone and thanks to these great hiking shoes (and my running shoes) I am able to run and/or walk every day without a cleft shin, sore hamstrings or knee problems. Very satisfied!
