I wanted a Smart Connect keyboard because I've tried several Bluetooth keyboard cases and I keep having problems with missing letters and duplicates. I thought only Apple made them, but the Apple keyboard leaves the back of the iPad exposed, and those little "chiclet" keys just don't work for me. Also, it doesn't have a holder for my Apple Pencil. Then I discovered this Logitech and wow! I'm very glad about that. The buttons feel more natural and when I want to detach them, no action is required when I want to use the iPad alone. The screen angle is fully adjustable, not just one or two positions. The keyboard is backlit and does not need to be charged thanks to the Smart Connector. This reduces the iPad's battery life somewhat, but it's tolerable, especially since it's easy to detach when I don't need the keyboard. And when the keyboard is detached, the iPad still has back and corner protections with slightly indented lips for added screen protection. I know some people don't like the fact that it doesn't offer a full grip when attached, but for me it's an advantage. I often use it on my lap rather than on a desk, and since I can tilt the screen to a different angle than the keyboard, it sits more comfortably on my feet. Oh, and the backlit keyboard. I often disable this feature, but it came in handy a couple of times. I can't recommend it highly enough. BUT WARNING: This black case absorbs heat and prevents the iPad from radiating heat. So using it outdoors in direct sunlight often causes the iPad to overheat.
