Review on πŸ”‡ Vance and Hines 21301 Quiet Baffle for Shortshots Staggered and Sideshots Exhaust Systems by Donald Waller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

vtx1300 is a large baffle, newer part number. they work fine for me.

More difficult to install than I thought but it comes from the previous owner who installed pipes upside down covering metal slats. It took me 7 hours as I had to figure out ways to get to the screws on the straps. 2006 Honda VTX1300 Vance n Hines Big Shot Pipes. These baffles eliminated popping noise under braking and deadened the noise when idling. The motorcycle is still quite noisy on the gas pedal. If flashing didn't save you from pops after installing straight pipes, I recommend installing these deflectors. I didn't notice any difference in performance, so I'm happy with that. I like the exhaust sound better. Slightly deeper with no metallic taste. I suggest you leave a thin piece of plastic wrap around the fiberglass to hold it as it slides into the tube, otherwise the fiberglass will stick together. It is also recommended to wear nitrile or latex gloves when handling fiberglass. Otherwise the skin will itch for a long time. Do not loosen the screw when removing other baffles. Take your time and realize that the guy before you who installed the pipes might not have known what he was doing.
