Doesn't quite fit but will do

I have a 2020 Mazda cx-5 and it says it should fit but unfortunately it wasn't long enough for the ends to reach the sides of my screen. It's just brittle plastic anyway so I cut the sides off of it and just glued the top on and everything works fine. It would be nice if it matched the 2020 cx-5 as advertised, but I got it working. Anyway, the shadow on the sides of the screen didn't really bother me, I wanted the top shadow more. I just think if I'm paying for something because it fits, it should fit without my modifications.
