Let me start by saying I haven't used a hair dryer for most of my life - I only air dried my hair a few years ago and even when I did ended up with a hair dryer, it wasn't very good quality. So I don't know how it compares to a high end hair dryer. However, I am very happy with my purchase. I feel like my hair is softer with this dryer and I love the different settings and tools that come with it. My previous one was just high, low and cool and either lasted forever or irritated the skin on the neck from excessively hot air. This dryer has high, medium and low heat settings, high and low speed settings and a cool mode so there are many variations depending on your needs. I didn't really understand how to use the diffuser attachment, but the concentrator has helped my hair to be smoother and better styled. I also thought it was a fair price for what you get.
