You get what you pay for
The ink floats on the paper, so when layering, the ink smears from below and rises. In addition, it does not withstand rubbing and rubbing, it easily begins to tear. This paper is great for kids to draw, but I wouldn't recommend it for older beginners either, as the above disadvantages make it difficult to draw.
- Montval Watercolor Paper is ideal for all wet gouache, watercolor and acrylic techniques. 12-page bound notebook contains 18" x 24" sheets. Acid-free 140lb cold-pressed natural white paper. Easy to use as it is highly resistant to repeated washing.
