These screws are amazing. They are much stronger than screws. They install much faster than cleat or bottom bracket bolts and they look even better. The large flat head provides much more holding power without the need for shims while still maintaining a low and sleek profile. I used them for the wooden railings on my bridge and they look great against the painted wood. Installing one of these Phillips screws requires a lot of force to hold the bit firmly in place, especially with longer screws that require more force. They wear out the tips and you have to use more than one to fill the bucket.
