Mold has grown on a filter bag in less than three months!

One star only for mould. The water now tastes great, is convenient and seems less wasteful BUT mold has grown on my filter bag after almost three months of continuous use. I was shocked and completely discouraged. My question is how long has the mold been there? I think I caught it early, but who needs mold in the water? Crazy!
