Easy repair in 5 minutes! It was a direct replacement for the 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor. It's best to have an assistant to hold the back door while you work. Of the tools, only a thin standard screwdriver is needed to knock out the old latches. The new assembly snaps easily into place. Once installed the new ones take a little more effort to get over the pistons and close the tailgate (compared to what I can remember from the OEM when they were in good condition). I appreciate that they are sold as a pair for a very reasonable price. Do this simple home makeover and save about $100. My wife also complained that it was VERY difficult for her to close it. The return date has already passed so I think I was overwhelmed that I threw them away and bought another brand.
