I bought this remote control for an elderly relative in a nursing home. His hands are shaking and he has trouble operating the standard TV remote control. He keeps hitting the wrong buttons, confusing TV inputs and channel programming. I found this BIG BUTTON remote control and I am very happy with it. Only 6 LARGE buttons and this allows one person to turn the TV on and off, change channels and adjust the volume. Programming the remote to work with his TV was easy and took about a minute. This remote "learns" from the original TV remote, so you can program anything to any button on this remote. I programmed volume, channel and on/off. It also has a mute button, but I didn't program that button because I figured this elderly man could accidentally press the mute button and mute the sound without knowing why there was no sound. So I just didn't program the mute button to do nothing when pressed. The buttons light up light green when pressed and are therefore very easy to see at night. I bought a white remote because the furniture in the room is dark brown and I felt that a black remote would make it difficult for a person to see it if it was on a side table or dresser. White stands out. This gentleman loved this remote control and can now watch TV without pressing the wrong buttons or ruining things. I'm sure the nursing home staff will enjoy the remote control as they no longer have to go into the room to find out why the TV is broken! I think that every person with a disability should have one of these remote controls. Thanks for a fantastic product!
