Review on IXS Helmet Trigger FF MIPS by Jose Mcdaniel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So good I had to get another one!

Failed to load media. Since January 2020 I've been downloading the old version of Trigger full face without MIPS. In August 2020 I broke my collarbone while jumping through clay mud at low speed and decided it was time to upgrade my gear. the occasion when my head or face suits me. I have iXS Trigger Full Face and iXS knee and elbow pads. In mid May of this year (2021) I was at my local pump lane learning bowling section transitions and the rod of my dirt jumping slipped as I landed. The rudder went left, the rudder went right, and the full-face helmet hit the jaw hard in the middle curve of the bowl. I hit hard enough to get a concussion. One of those situations where MIPS might not have helped much since the main impact was on my chin and forehead. I firmly believe that without a chin covering my face with a helmet I would go home with a wire covered jaw. I'm on a boat where I believe a concussion will most likely fry the helmet and there is definitely unseen damage in the styrofoam lurking in the styrofoam. hit me on the head again. I love the bright orange color, it has a cool matte finish. And I'm very happy to have a lightweight helmet that looks like a half-shell XC helmet but offers full-face, downhill-certified crash protection. never seen. Normally the MIPS glide plane is connected to the hard plastic points inside the helmet. I immediately noticed that it doesn't squeak or differ from my non-MIPS FF trigger. The size is perfect for me. I ordered M/L and I have a big head. For reference, the widest part of my head was just over 60 cm (or 23 5/8 inches). I also have room to tighten the helmet with the dial. Benefits: • Ultra light weight • Two sets of cheek pads for a custom fit • Reinforced chin bar means the helmet won't collapse if you slap your chin • Good ventilation • The visor moves much easier than the previous version • The fit adjustment system makes this helmet better than the others, most other brands offer custom made pads that increase the warmth of the helmet or nothing at all to keep the helmet snug to the body. Head • Goggle rubber grip on the back • Unlike my Giro Disciple, the MIPS system doesn't squeak • The Fid-Lock magnetic buckle system is much simpler than the D-ring buckle. I have no doubt that this works for all types of crashes. Cons: • It's not cheap, but still cheaper than any hospital visit you might have for a half-shell accident. • No mesh at the front of the face opening so don't fall on sharp sticks and rocks. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a lightweight full face shield. My girlfriend bought one and my boyfriend ordered one when he saw mine.
