Many companies use them to run their calcium reactors because they are so reliable and you can get replacement parts for them! Many pumps are disposable. I find it unfair to give this pump 1 star as the buyer was unable to determine the gallons per hour prior to purchase. I take it for granted that this is not possible with a UV steriliser! It is designed for many years of low-consumption operation. I have some of them that must be 10 years old! and still runs strong. I broke the ceramic impeller shaft on one of them and was only able to order this part. Other brands eat at your heart! lol For what it's intended for, it's as good as they are. Made in Germany.
