🐠 EHEIM 1046 Universal Pump: Powerful and Versatile Water Circulation for All Aquarium Systems Review

Bought from another online store (was cheaper there). This pump is on another level. All the details are really made to last and you don't feel like they're going to be phased out any time soon. Very (very) quiet, very stable and much heavier than comparable pumps. The power cord is very well protected. The one I have is made in Germany.

I ordered and received Eheim 1046. It looks brand new and the aquarium filter I bought it for now works. However, the pump arrived in an Eheim 300 pump box with a 300 box inside. The 1046, which is a smaller pump, rode in the box because the box certainly wasn't holding it. I received what I ordered but it seems there is some mischief going on here.

Many companies use them to run their calcium reactors because they are so reliable and you can get replacement parts for them! Many pumps are disposable. I find it unfair to give this pump 1 star as the buyer was unable to determine the gallons per hour prior to purchase. I take it for granted that this is not possible with a UV steriliser! For starters, 1046 is about 75 g/hr and for most applications it's too weak to force water through a UV sterilizer. I bought this to power my 18w Coralife UV Steriliser and there was a permanent air pocket in the inlet tube. Tried to burp the device by turning off the power but still couldn't clear a large number of air pockets. In addition, the device was prone to leaks.
