We are installing a large video screen in our HS gym and although a media server is used for sports videos we wanted to be able to use the display for guest speakers as well. While wireless HDMI extenders could be an option, we were concerned about the performance of all wireless devices in the gym at large gatherings and decided a wired solution would be best. We have a 165ft Cat6 transition between units. This system allowed us to mount the box on the wall where presenters could easily plug in their HDMI source (and have an internet connection via ethernet - again issues with wifi/bandwidth interference). The POE capability means we don't have to worry about powering it up at the gym, and the form factor made it easy to connect. no noticeable issues and fully expect that when the large display is installed next week we will experience the same exceptional results.
