Frontier Fios installed with a Frontier Gateway G1100 router

UPDATE: If you have purchased the WCB6200Q, after the WPS step, the first thing you should do is update the firmware from 1.1.10.20 to the latest version 1.1 Locate on 10/20 for "WCB6200Q Firmware Upgradeโ€ for instructions and a file to upgrade the extender. Also, I forgot to mention one thing: Make sure you check your incoming splitter which is outside of your Fios block. You need to replace it with a MOCA compatible splitter instead of a regular splitter for this to work. I can confirm that the Holland Electronics blue label splitter works well. I used to reset these plugin extenders because they kept disconnecting, so I searched for a better solution and found the Actiontec WCB6200Q Wi-Fi Extender. Some of the things I was looking for were a stable, reliable cable connection, Ethernet support, easy setup/plug and play, and finally an extension cable that is fully compatible with Frontier Fios. First, I connected the new extender to my G1100 router with an ethernet cable, then connected the extender to my computer with another ethernet cable, and then plugged in the power cable. Then I waited until the expander light turned green at the top. At this point I pressed the green WPS light on the extender for 10 seconds until it turned red and started flashing, then I pressed the WPS button on the G1100 router for 3 seconds and started flashing. In less than 10 seconds, the extender found my router and connected. Another thing the WPS process does is change the extender's name and password to match the router's name and password, but add "ext" to the end of the name to make it too differentiate. Finally, after the installation, I updated the firmware, which can be found on the actiontec website. Results. Now I have a dependable WiFi extender, dependable and bulletproof, that works in the dead zones of my home. The speed of Wi-Fi is almost the same as my wired connection. 50/50 but what I like best is that I didn't have to fold anything. Everything works as it should and I no longer have to deal with those horribly cheap Wi-Fi extenders.
