Review on πŸͺ‘ Quakehold! Furniture Strap Kit 4160, Black by Kevin Gunnmann

Revainrating 5 out of 5

7 of them installed; satisfied with the installation; Suggestions

As a Pacific Northwester, I'm trying to prepare for the big hit. I used it to attach several bookshelves to the wall. Enough guidance. All parts are included (if you don't have metal rivets), including some alcohol wipes to clean the surfaces before attaching the velcro. Personally, I have not used velcro, preferring to drill small holes in the tops of bookshelves. Suggestion: Do not try to drive screws into the wall with a screwdriver or drill. I've tried both and all I did was remove the screws and bit. Get a wrench or socket or similar, an 8mm bit worked for me iirc. And you should always measure twice (or three or four times) and cut (drill) once. You'll find stud positions and mark possible screw holes, check them with the metal finder feature in the stud finder. This way you avoid drilling nails and drywall screws. :) Luckily the straps have two grommets, so if the first grommet hole is over the metal you can switch to the other hole. If we ever have an earthquake, I'll let you know how they're doing. At the same time, they can prevent children from tipping over bookshelves.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Little things
