The only reason I bought this and love it over other products is that it tells you the percentage of salt in the tank. I moved into the house a few years ago and needed to install a water softener. When I bought the software, my system builder said they would release a monitor, but they never did. The installer told me to only add the salt once a month, which I did. But I wanted a smart monitor. First I installed a water sensor. When the salt decreased and touched the waterline, I received a message. Then I found Pentair, bought it and used it. There were some problems with him. First, Pentair only tells you high/medium/low. The problem I had was with the depth of my tank, 1 bag of 40lbs of salt wouldn't move a Pentair from low, not even to medium, so I've always had low salt from a Pentair. In addition, the Pentair device only measures once a day at night, you cannot log in and get real-time readings. Third, there is a clip to attach the pentaer, my tank is like a wide ledge where the cap is. I nearly ripped off the clip that went mounting pentair. There is actually tension on the plastic clip for the Pentair. Last but not least, the Pentair uses batteries, it has a constant power supply. I found and tried this product. Setup was very easy, as was setting up a Kasa smart outlet, Ring camcorder, or Leviton smart switch. I had a question for their tech support. They were quick and super responsive. They actually added the functionality I was looking for in their EZSalt 2.0 app. I started with their app version 1.0. This gives me all the information I need from a brine tank monitoring product.
