Review on Ameda 17221 Cotton Breast Pads by Mohan Joseph

Bulky and difficult to wash

While I usually have nothing but good things to say about Ameda products, this is an exception. On the packaging of these nursing pads it is written that they are washable and will keep their shape. That is not right! I washed these pads in Dreft detergent (very mild) in cold water on a gentle cycle. I put them out to dry. They were bulky and not soft after this wash. After they were completely dry I tried fluffing them up a bit in the dryer to get them back to their original shape but I couldn't and they were still a crumpled mess. Not as discreet as described, they are very chunky and I can't wear them under anything other than pajamas because they are flashy. Overall I only gave them 2 stars because they are thick enough to prevent leakage. However, since they cannot be worn outside the home without being embarrassing, they are impractical and too expensive to wear only at night. I would recommend using Ameda disposable nursing pads. Although they are less environmentally friendly and more expensive in the long run, they do the job and stay in the bra. Ameda Outlet is a very polite seller with fast shipping. I would buy disposables from them but next time I would skip the reusable ones!
