Review on πŸ”Œ AudioQuest PQ3 - Power Conditioner & Non-Sacrificial Surge Protector Power Strip - 8 Outlets & 4 USB Charging Ports by Kev See

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't trust the specs

I bought this because of the undemanding surge protector for my home office (the cheap one I have now blinks, meaning it's passing current but no longer protecting ) and "high-speed" USB ports with a total current of 3.4 amps. Unfortunately, the stated current cannot be exact or even approximate. I plugged my phone into one of the ports and after 30 minutes I noticed that the display was off, the charge level didn't go up at all. In fact, I then took it out and started looking for apps that might be draining power, and the battery level started dropping when the display was on. Then I turned off my cell phone and let it charge. An hour later, the level rose by only three percent. I then plugged the phone into a wall outlet with USB ports using the same charging cable and reported a total current of 3.4 amps, and my phone charged in less than 10 minutes (the rate was 94 percent when I first plugged his in ). This is in my home office as I want the USB ports to charge devices in a timely manner.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • I won't say anything
