I installed this on a wall wood stud. I put my new never plugged in $700 microwave on top and it folded up like a cheap tent. The dark image is a large dent in the microwave door. It fell on my new $1250 stove that just got installed. These brackets are made from cheap, thin, stamped metal. The trailing edges of the bottom bracket simply fold inward. That's the good side of the microwave, by the way. They claim you can put 100 pounds on them. I am an old man who is 80 years old and I have the microwave raised on the brackets. I doubt he's around 100 pounds or that I'll get much stronger with age.
