So if you want to use this USB lavalier microphone for remote work (Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) or virtual schools (MS Teams, etc.), this might be for you. I was able to use this external microphone via USB while STILL using the MacBook's internal speakers. I could NOT do this with a similar lav mic with a 3.5mm TRRS headphone/mic combo jack. This may be because MacOS treats any use of this port as EVERYTHING (mic + headphones) or nothing, even if you're just trying to use an external mic like I did. It is better to bypass this connector and use USB. In MacOS 10.15.6, the microphone was recognized immediately without drivers or software. Added bonus: you don't need batteries as it is powered by the USB port. The downside is that you can only use this mic with computers. You cannot use this microphone with a camera, smartphone or tablet. hope this helps you For your health.
