This laser is visible outdoors in daylight. It is also visible from a greater distance than most. I don't know exactly how far it's visible, but I used it in broad daylight at a distance of 75 feet. Lowe's had another brand that would do the same thing for a fraction of the cost but they are no longer available so I had to pay a heavy price for them leaving my Kobalt (from Lowe's) at work. The cobalt is under $20, and this Johnson is over $100. The price is not good but the product is good.
