I received the advertised 500pcs and a micrometer indicates that they are indeed made from 4mil poly. The 2.5" x 3" size indicates the sealed area, not including the flaps outside the seal. The seals seem to work well and easily. I recommend these bags.

These bags are great for organizing my electronics parts, spare flash light battery for the car, those millions of cables we all get with out cell phones. Bags were ok but hard to open. i have bought similar bags in the past and the descriptions were the same and the bags are not. in the past, the one side of the top edge was a bit longer than the other which made them easy to open. these bags have even edges and are much harder to open, especially if you have to do a lot of them at one time. otherwise the thickness and construction seem the same

These bags are decent quality considering the price but you get what you pay for. I use them to put together my daily vitamin packs.
