SAFETY ! That's what I look for when using this type of knife. One thing the vendor fails to mention in the item description is that the knife blade slides back into the metal housing when you take your thumb of of the red slide mechanism making this knife VERY safe to use. Best box knife I have ever used !

Pros
  • โ€ŽNo
Cons
  • The lightweight design can make it feel flimsy and not durable enough for heavy-duty use.

Good knife for the price, but not perfect.

You would be hard pressed to find a self retracting knife for this price with extra blades included. The outer shell is plastic, but i regularly drop mine on to a concrete floor as I work, and it has not shown any cracks, or damage. The blades seem to hold up fairly well, and last quite a long time (I think I've had to change mine 2 times in a month of constant use). The downside comes when switching the blades. You have to unscrew the case, and the way the spring is mounted in the inside, youโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • The blades can become dull quickly and need constant replacement, leading to extra expenses.

Flimsy Box Cutter Fails Expectations

This supposed full metal shell utility knife was a complete disappointment. The retractable function barely worked and the blades were dull and easily nicked. Not a reliable tool for any serious DIY or home improvement projects.

Pros
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Flimsy construction and dull blades.

Disappointed - my new review

I dont like this cutter so much only becauseIt doesn't stay open. It retracts so fast and too much. It doesn't lock so it makes it hard for me to use. Other than that, its fine.

Pros
  • Lightweight good building materials and durable
Cons
  • The compact size can make it difficult to use for larger cutting jobs or with thicker materials.

Not a safety knife: my feedback

Product does not work as advertised. The blade does not retract automatically. It may be OK as a standard utility knife but not as a safety knife.

Pros
  • โ€ŽMulticolor
Cons
  • The small blade size may not be suitable for precise cutting or intricate details.

It does the job, but so do cheaper models

Self-retracting describes this box cutter best, it's as safe as you can possibly wish for in a cutting tool.Likewise you would surely wish for something cheaper while still being up to the task, and options abound.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • The retractable mechanism can be unreliable and stick, causing frustration and potential injury.
