I have tried several types of mounts including the Ram brand rubber mount. This is by far the best. And it installs quickly and very securely. I wish I could try this first instead of wasting time and money on other products.

Mount the stem on my BMW R9T. Couldn't find a wedge lock for a reasonable price so I went with this one. It seems to fit well but is still a bit tired of the attachment mechanism as I've had issues with the same type of end mirrors. Did a 4 hour bike ride today and seems to have worked as advertised. Time will tell if it holds up.

In a nutshell - aluminum locknuts shear off during installation. Now go on this counter mine. Note: This may work if the steerer tube bore is smaller (16-17mm). I have 19mm which is the upper limit of the advertised setting. The locknut failed to do its job and broke. Not worth the hassle as it took 5 minutes to insert and tighten the install.

The nut holding the insert apart is made from cheap soft aluminum and is easily removed. I was able to salvage it by squeezing it in a vise and refilling it. After fiddling with it a bit I was able to get a strong hold. If I didn't have to spend time fixing a broken nut I would give her 5 stars all the time. Works well with a RAM mount and a 1" swivel with a TERRIBLE fork mount.
