Big Money Saver!: Anti-Theft

This fixed our broken key problem for about 20% of the cost of a Honda replacement key. Installing the transmitter from our old dongle into the new shell was very easy and a perfect fit. You need to find a good locksmith to carve the key - not everyone has the right equipment. Since your original transmitter is used, there is no need to re-sync the key to your car. Big money savings! Used on a 2011 Honda CRV.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Some Trouble

High-quality keychain BUT.

High-quality workmanship and I was able to transfer my "chip" directly to the bunch of keys without any modifications. Worked great until I had to cut the key. Most stores didn't want that, although I would have paid as if I had bought a key there. Eventually I found Ace Hardware with the right cutter willing to do it, although they didn't guarantee it would work (my key). Ace is great! Works great and the total cost was only $4 from Ace and $12 from Revain for a dealer item that cost over $150

Pros
  • Suitable for many people
Cons
  • A few little things

Saved about $140 by doing it myself instead of a dealer. Since I still had the chip and innards from the original key, the key didn't need to be "programmed". All I had to do was assemble it (very easy and quick) and find a locksmith/locksmith who could do the job. Keeping your old key is MANDATORY for this to work properly, only in case of a blank key (which you will receive. I have had no issues with the key exchange/update.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Good Honda key fob replacement

My Honda key fob was damaged but the electronic module was fine. This key fob allowed me to get a new key by simply replacing the electronics and milling the metal part on a hardware key cutting machine. The only issue I had was that the key fob came without a locking screw. This is a small but serious omission as the old key fob was just damaged by the screw falling out and I have continued to use it. When you turn the key in the ignition, there is enough force to crack the plastic casingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Will not accept old keys

This replacement key fob will not accept old keys! A new key blank is cast into the rear half of the case. The new key blank is said to match the old key blank, but 3 different craftsmen said that only the dealer has the correct equipment to cut the new key (because all the cuts are on the face, not the edges). ). If I wanted to spend an arm and a leg right from the start, I wouldn't bother with a new keychain. I was able to pry the key blank out of the key fob with a dremel, but the formedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Problem

Honda Fit 2009 SAVE MONEY. READ ME.

Okay so I totally figured the key piece of the keychain might come out. Unfortunately this is not possible! LISTEN, I'LL SAVE YOU A LOT OF MONEY IF YOU FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS. I have a 2009 Honda Fit. If you have the same machine, read on. If not, then this review isn't for you. Okay now, if your key fob's "guts" are working properly, give your local Honda dealer a call. You can help for $15 and some loose change. Including taxes. Yes, you heard right! You have both parts of the bowl thereโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
