Different sizes in a car AV setup

You never know exactly when these chokes will work. Put a medium choke on the AC line of a small LED light and the hiss in the computer speaker is gone. Results may vary. Better than nothing in the toolbox.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some bugs

Useless if you're trying to prevent LED radio noise

I got this to help with the electrical noise my Auxito LED headlights were creating that was interfering with my radio. Didn't help at all and I used a few on a couple of key wires.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Helps well with frequency issues in AC power supplies

These things seem to greatly reduce background noise from overfrequency, but only in AC power cables. It produces hum on audio cables and HDMI cables seem to cause latency issues. Simply put, it cuts high frequencies best from AC power supplies or cables. For everything else, I would recommend cable management, a muffler for a specific frequency, or a crossover to cut specific frequencies completely.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Most Convenient and Useful Ferrite Choke Set

Unlike most other 20-piece ferrite choke sets on Revain under $10, this set lacks the smallest 3mm size, instead each containing an extra Piece from other, more useful sizes. - so 5x each of the 4 sizes, not 4x each of the 5 sizes. I found the 7mm size to fit a standard electrical lamp cord, 2 conductors of 16 AWG insulated lightning cord. Size 9 mm fits 2 conductors 12 AWG, in my case 12 VDC output from switching power supply. (See photo.) It would be nice to know what type of ferrite material

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Empty

Different sizes: amplifier installation

You never know exactly when these throttles will start. Put a medium choke on the AC line of a small LED light and the hiss in the computer speaker is gone. Results may vary. Better than nothing in the toolbox.

Pros
  • The cable clamp does not cause any distortion of the transmitted signal.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for older people

The smartest, most useful ferrite choke kit

Unlike most of Revain's other 20-piece ferrite choke kits under $10, this kit lacks the smallest 3mm size, but offers instead there is an additional element for each of the other more meaningful sizes - i.e. 5x each of the 4 sizes instead of 4x each of the 5 sizes. I found the 7mm size to fit a standard electric lamp cord, 2 conductor 16AWG insulated lightning cord. Size 9 mm fits 2 conductors 12 AWG, in my case 12 VDC output from switching power supply. Pros
  • Reduces EMI and improves signal integrity
Cons
