Fixed an idle issue I was having with my Mercury 9.9. The upper and lower breather plates need to be replaced from the old block but the gaskets are new. It fires instantly and idles fine after a few small adjustments to the idle screw.

Very good deal. The carburetor was installed on 11/29/2019. The engine started and WORKED GREAT! I can't get the original carburettor to idle. Slightly different from the original carburettor. No top vent hose connection and no fill hose connection but that didn't seem to matter. This carburetor is cheaper than the manufacturer's conversion kit. Hopefully it will continue to work great when we launch the boat.

I liked the fact that this carb costs a lot less than $$. In addition, the 2012 Mercury Pro 9.9 kicker does not require inflation hoses. I simply abstained from using a primer since the top and bottom carb plates have no gas lines. My engine started fine without primer and it took minimal adjustments to make it idle better than it has in years! It would be easy to replace the old carburetor plates...although not necessary!

Looks exactly like the carburetor on a 2020 Mercury 8HP Outboard, mine was out of 1 month warranty and the dealer wanted $300 for a new carburetor plus installation. I had to take the vent off the old carb and put it on the new one, had to adjust the idle, so far so good, seems to run better than before and starts on 2nd or 3rd pull.
