I make homemade wine and it sounds to me like a babbling brook. Pure music to my ears. Easy to use and clean. Works like a dream.

I bought this lock set to use in making homemade cider. A store near me sells 1 gallon glass jugs of organic apple juice from the field day. The 6.5 stopper fits the bottle perfectly and the lock works as it should.

FYI they are plastic like a soda bottle. They seem pretty strong. The plugs appear to be silicone and are much lighter than the photo. I don't know what bottle you use them in, but I put them in a 1/2 gallon growler and they work great.

I have been in the canning industry for many years but have decided to start a new project. I had gallon jars and glass pitchers, but I needed other supplies. They worked great in a glass jar. I've also seen them used in the lids of wide-mouth gallon cans; However, this requires a little drilling.

First caveat: Make sure you order the right size! While these are really great locks, they didn't fit my new 3 gallon bottles as far as I wanted them to be tight and secure. I ordered #6. It was entirely my fault. I love these "double bubble" airlocks. So you can see at a glance how active the fermentation is and if it's taking place, even if you can't see the bubbles (recognizable by the different water levels in the two airlock bubbles).
