Description of 3M 94280 Case Welding Capacity Standard

Welding shield kit. Available as replacement parts. Weld shield can be installed with common hand held tools. Weld shield kit compatible with only existing M-Series headtops. User is able to lift weld shield independently from respiratory visor. Able to lift visors in non-hazardous areas to help facilitate communications.

Disappointing Welding Capacity Tool

While this tool has some potential, it fell short in meeting my needs. Through trial and error I found that it did not hold up well during extended use and left me frustrated with the results. The one positive was its initial ease of use. Overall, I would not recommend this product in the Industrial and Scientific category of Industrial Power & Hand Tools. .

Beware of False Promises

This so-called "standard" welding capacity was anything but. THANKS to my knowledge gained in practice I found that it could barely handle the most basic of industrial jobs.It may be marketed as an Industrial and Scientific product, but it fell far short of expectations. The only pro I can find is that it's relatively cheap, but you get what you pay for. In the end, its simply not worth the investment..

  • Limited mobility due to its size and weight, making it difficult to move and store.

Nickel and Blackout 3M

Exactly as shown in the photos, no more. Keep in mind that if you want to extend the PAPR, you'll also need to buy the M-146SG for another $50-70 to actually attach it to the PAPR.
