3M Command Plain Ceiling Hooks, 1 Pack Review

I have used a number of other 3M command products and have always had good experiences. These ceiling hooks didn't stick to my ceiling at all for some reason, and even when I tried to attach them directly to the walls, they fell off immediately after a few minutes. Compared to the adhesive on other 3M products, they are not sticky at all.

They held up well but came loose fairly easily. Of the 10 I posted, 4 are probably still holding on. I hung a light mosquito net on the back porch. The network weighs almost nothing. The net does collide with the wind, but not much and not so much that most of them should have already fallen. Too bad they would be perfect. If you're holding something insanely light and it doesn't hit, that's probably great.

The hook seemed to work like a charm and held a very light mobile in my daughter's room. We ordered the hooks in January so I'm guessing we installed them late January/early February. Fast forward four months and the base is still connected to the ceiling, but the hook itself broke at the bend and the mobile fell to the ground. Thought the sticker/adhesive was the limiting factor, I was surprised that the metal itself succumbed.

It's hard to tell from the product images but these hooks are made up of 2 separate components and the hook itself (image attached) inserts into the ball joint base. This means whatever you're hanging can't put side load or the hook will pop out of the connection - I've tried using them for a string of lights and they kept falling out until I finally gave up and replaced the hooks . The glue is usually good quality 3M but do not use it unless you plan to hang an item that is absolutely 100%…
