🐾 100 Feet of Pet Friendly Premium Sisal Rope - 1/4-inch Diameter Review

I seriously doubt this product is suitable for animals. When I opened the bag, it gave off a very penetrating oily smell. I hate being in the same room with the rope, it's so strong. I can't imagine my parrot putting its beak down when climbing a perch, that would be nice. Send back.

I had to replace two of the posts on my scratching post! No smell and I was able to make it in an hour with my bare hands and a hot glue gun! The kitty took part in the action and ended up with some drying glue on his fur lol which will be fun to photograph. But the rope is good! Comes in a bag. It would be nice if they could wrap it around and around in something.

More than enough to refresh our cat scratching post a few more times. It is holding up very well, this picture is more than 4 months later and still looks as good as when we first packed the mail. It's easy to wrap every now and then with just added glue and a nail. Would definitely buy again when the boys are through with it but I don't see it happening for a long time.

The rope itself is great. As described, it's durable, pet safe, and odorless as some people have claimed. The smell of sisal, but that's all. Maybe I got lucky with that! However, the reason I removed the star is because it is not twisted as shown in the picture. It came loose and was stuffed into a plastic bag, making it difficult to handle if you're trying to wrap it around something like me.

I bought this to makeover a cat scratching post. I've waited months to write a review and it lasts MUCH longer than the original. The BEFORE photo was taken in December and the AFTER photo was taken today (July). I used about half a roll so I can make another if needed. My cats had no problems and didn't even seem to realize it was different. I glued it on with hot glue. Will be redetermined!

We used this sisal rope to replace the original carpeting on the cat scratching post. After cutting off the (shredded!) portion of the rug, we carefully hot melted the sisal in place, pushing and pulling the rope as we slowly wrapped it around the bare wood post. The result looks really good and our cat got used to this new coating straight away. He is a strong cat and pulls the rope very hard, but so far it is holding up very well.

This stuff arrived in a ball and not on a roll as shown in the photo. It also smells like chemicals, which is not at all suitable for pets. And in general, without labeling, even if it doesn't smell, I wouldn't have confidence in its safety for my cats. Also, its texture is a lot rougher than any sisal yarn I've worked with before - it gave me a splinter when I took it out of the box! From now on, I plan to buy sisal from a regular store so I can be sure of the quality of my purchases.

I ordered this product to repair my scratching post. I read a lot of reviews about the smell of kerosene, but there were so many saying there was no smell that I decided to give it a try. When we received our package I could smell chemicals even before I opened the plastic wrap. It wasn't very overwhelming, but it was definitely there.
