THIS IS NOT A GENUINE BRASS PRODUCT

This is by no means a genuine brass product. I ordered a second set before installing. Mistake. Must be fake. In the end we had enough supplies of real copper crafts to complete the job.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • So Far So Good

Nice outside view only

As mentioned in the reviews these valves have a plastic interior which makes them unreliable in the long run. It's not worth skipping $2 a piece over the rugged all-metal construction, part number G2CR19XC1.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • disappears

2 out of 4 valves leak in less than a month

Bought 4 valves to replace corner taps under two sinks. 2 out of 4 connections are leaking at the valve handle (not the tube side). I really regret buying these. I think I'll try shark bites next time.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Plastic Garbage Ball

Shame on BrassCraft. It should be noted that the chrome-plated ball valve has a chrome-plated or brass ball. This POF has a plastic ball with ridges all around, giving it a quarter turn grip and grip when opening or closing. The hole in the valve is also not centered. just trash.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Some Trouble

All internal parts are plastic

The internal ball valve is all plastic and poorly made. I expected it to be brass or metal. This must be stated in the product description. To be honest, it looks kind of deceptive. I've never seen a quarter turn brass check valve with a crappy plastic internal mechanism. Sad.

Pros
  • Good price
Cons
  • Weight

BrassCraft Quarter Turn Valves work flawlessly

These quarter turn valves work flawlessly and are easy to install. There are no leaks at the compression fitting, and since they are shorter than the rotary valves they replaced, they didn't have to run as much pipe off the wall. The stem is plastic, but that seems to be standard these days. Would have liked a metal stem but as the valve runs very easily the plastic is probably strong enough to hold up.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Intervals

Good price for 4 valves

These check valves are pretty standard. I used one to replace a check valve that had frozen from corrosion. I used a compression ball and nut from a discarded valve. Because the compression roller deforms on initial installation, I had to use pipe sealant that was applied to the old compression roller and I applied the sealant over three wraps of tape around the threads. There are no leaks yet. At the same time, the US needs a new standard for valves on sinks, toilets and other plumbing…

They are easy to install and the 1/4 turn allows me to.

They are easy to install and the 1/4 turn allows me to quickly turn them off and visually see if they are on or off. I hope they last long because I've installed a whole boat of these in the last 2 years. Update - Lately I've found that about one in five I install doesn't work properly. The full pressure could not be built up at the tap. I removed the valve and saw that the plastic inside is partially blocking the water flow. Looking at the last 4 I've received I've seen that they all have…
