Cons
  • May not have the desired buoyancy for certain types of flies

Best value for my opinion

I’ve tried other leaders from the most popular.to other makers, but Bozeman are by far my go to. Great value and far better product than rio.

Pros
  • ‎XTL12
Cons
  • Limited tensile strength may not hold up well with larger fish

I was fed up with paying rediculous amouts of money .

I was fed up with paying rediculous amouts of money for fly gear so I decided to give Bozeman Fly Works a shot. The performance and quality of their leaders are equal to the big name brands that we are all familiar with. The only difference I have found between their products and other brands, is the price. Bozeman Fly works are the only brand of tippet/leaders in my pack from here on.

Pros
  • A must-have item for any fly angler looking for a reliable, affordable fly fishing leader set
Cons
  • Tapered design may not provide the desired accuracy for precise casting

These leaders SINK.

These leaders SINK. Sink, not stink, although the two words are kind of synonymous in this case. Even after coating these puppies in floatant, they sink after a few casts. I swear it's like they're flourocarbon.I took these leaders on a two week fly fishing trip to NM/CO. It was great fishing but I used up many of my bank of curses on these leaders. Why do they sink? These stupid leaders won't float! I swear my tippet was floating as well as my actual fly line, but the leader just pulled…

Pros
  • Suitable for all skill levels, from novice to experienced anglers
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with sinking lines

Quality and great price!

Easy to unwind(start with loop end and unwrap until the loop end is not wrapped around the rest of the loops) and it comes undone perfectly. Already pretty straight without using straightening tool

Pros
  • Good deal
Cons
  • Limited strength and durability may lead to frequent replacements

Great Quality on my review.

I have used these leaders the past couple of years fishing the Rio Grande and they have performed well for me. That's my review.

Pros
  • Great value for the price
Cons
  • Can be challenging to cast with precision in tight spaces

Good price, good product

As good as I've seen. Will definitely buy more from here. They come individually coiled up nicely in the package. No untangling nightmare.

Pros
  • The pack comes with an instructional manual on how to use it for various fishing techniques
Cons
  • Not suitable for use with spinning or baitcasting reels

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent for the price.

Excellent value for the money and knot easily. The line doesn't have a ton of memory and straightens pretty easily. My only complaint is that one leader (out of two packs) was knotted when I tried to unroll it, not a huge deal but a little frustrating.

Pros
  • The transparent design makes it easier to see when the line is tangled or damaged
Cons
  • Tapered design may not work well with certain types of fly lines

My New Go-To Knotless Leader

I was in the market for some new leaders in 2x and 3x and didn't want to spend $12 on a small pack (2-3) of Rio leaders so I thought I'd give these a try. I was extremely surprised at how easily these straightened out. Just a single tug while sliding it through my hands and it lost all memory. Even when it got twisted from using some squirmy wormy flies, it straightened right back out with little effort. My only complaint is that, to my understanding, the industry standard is 4 turns of the…

Pros
  • High-flotation design ensures that the line stays on the surface
Cons
  • May not have the desired sensitivity for feeling bites

3x held up in my review

landed a 19" brownie using a Bozeman 3X tapered leader tonight. It was an extra long fight too - line stood the test Limited resistance to saltwater corrosion and rust.

Pros
  • The leader is easy to attach to your fly line with loop-to-loop connections
Cons
  • Limited resistance to saltwater corrosion and rust

Excellent leaders good for me

These are some of the best and most reasonably priced leaders on the market. Their customer service is second to none! Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • They leave enough of a tag end on that you can tighten the knot, then remove the tag end. Love it.
Cons
  • Limited availability may lead to inconsistent quality

Good product!: my feedback

Beautiful, simple, consistent, delivered very quickly. I’ll use them up and buy some more when I need to re-stock my fishing gear.

Pros
  • haven't fished them yet so i'm assuming a lot
Cons
  • May wear out or break quickly with frequent use

First Impression: my feedback

I have not fished with these leaders yet, but they appear to be similar to the Cortland 333 leaders that I use for everyday trout fishing in the blue ridge and smoky mountains. At least the test strengths are very close. I anticipate being quite satisfied with them, especially for the price. I'll probably have to go with a higher strength product when fishing Arkansas and Colorado,

Pros
  • 5 Pack - 9' 7.5' and12' Tapered Leaders
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for certain techniques or methods

Good value for the money

Pretty much 5 tapered leaders for the price of a 3 pack of bigger name brands. I'm relatively new to fly fishing (2-3 years) so haven't got into the intricacies of making my own leaders, but routinely replace last 2 feet of my leader with 5X flurocarbon tippet. I've only used this in the Fall with nymphs and had good luck with it and couldn't tell any difference to the big name brand I've used before. Will hold off on giving 5* until I try it with dries in the Spring and see how it holds up…

Pros
  • A little stiff, I used a liter l 5x and was pleased with the results.
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in saltwater environments

It's a leader, but its a decent leader.even in salt water

they unfurl the fly easily. No complaints with these leaders at all. they are accurate in leader strength, and seem to be resistant to abrasion.I fish on rocky beaches in the salt, and they hold up well, even though they aren't "salt water" leaders.

Pros
  • Fly Fishing Tapered Leaders
Cons
  • Can be difficult to control when casting at longer distances

Great value in my review

I've been buying these leaders for a while now. Obviously I like them.I fiddle around with leaders constantly -- adding droppers, chopping them down for bass fishing, and so on.I'd much rather start with a tapered leader and add/subtract as needed than fool around with multiple spools of material creating specialty leaders -- which always wind up getting modified anyway.

Pros
  • The leaders are pre-looped at both ends, making it easy to attach them to your line
Cons
  • May not have the necessary strength for pulling in larger fish

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great leaders. Catches fish.

Many people spend like 5-6 dollars per leader and I can't figure out why. These are much cheaper but the performance seems to be equally good. They don't break, the fish can't see em, and they don't come tangled. Save some money and grab a couple packs of these and throw them in your pack. It'll be worth it the moment it keeps you from needing to sit down and build up your own leader from tippet because you ran out of fresh leaders!

Pros
  • The pack can be ordered in different weights to suit your fishing needs
Cons
  • Limited abrasion resistance may cause line damage

Easy set-up nymphing rig

A fully flouro leader in 12’ length. Great! First, I cut 18 inches of tippet off. Then I tie on a tippet ring and reattach the tippet I snipped off to the tippet ring I now have a 12 foot leader that I can always tell how long the tippet is. I can then also add an additional section of 5X or 6X tippet material using a triple surgeons knot (leaving one tag end untrimmed) and now I have a nymph w/dropper rig. Very versatile leader.

Pros
  • Very quick shipping!! Nice to purchase some tapered leaders at a reasonable price!
Cons
  • Limited availability may make it difficult to replace

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great buy. Subtle and fresh.

As much as I feel the importance of paying the trout gods by buying consumables locally when traveling, I've found myself without access to a fly shop nearby some remote streams. Therefore, I wanted to at least have a few items stashed away just in case. The price point here was more than reasonable (compared to retail in-shop top shelf leaders) so I added these to my cart last minute in preparation for a trip to Colorado. Glad I did as I had put empty leader packages back in my vest and needed

Pros
  • Fast Shipment. Have used before. Will buy again when needed.
Cons
  • May be too stiff for some fly fishers' preferences

Better than Rio good for me

After using up the tippet on one of these leaders in 9ft 5x I thought I’d try a Rio & SA nylon leader to compare. The Rio had terrible memory issues which caused the tippet section to eventually knot up and be rendered useless. The SA was better, but almost too supple. At less than half the price per leader, these Bozeman Flyworks leaders are better quality.

Pros
  • I appreciate being able to buy tapered leaders with a loop.
Cons
  • Tapered design may not provide the desired casting performance
