As a user of other Lacie HD models, I find it very easy to recommend this product. I bought this device in May 2007 and after 3 months of use I have to say that the performance is excellent. Porsche's design is simple and elegant, although thin compared to smaller devices. I'm amazed at the data transfer speed, I find my data on this external hard drive much faster than my Mac's factory installed Superdrive when using a 4.3GB data DVD. I have 8 250GB versions of this drive (which I really liked) and was about to buy 2 more when I found this one. As expected, it's almost identical to the smaller version, except it has twice the storage space. However, I noticed that the power supply is not interchangeable with a smaller version and the on/off switch is not a toggle switch but a push button. Also, when I turn it off, the drive doesn't automatically mount on my Mac when I turn it on again, which is different from the 250GB…
