The instructions are not accurate. That is hard. Read my review

Wiring Harness Transit Connect: Installing the wiring harness was a complex job and required removing the inner body panels with special tools. of rear access panels for tool and fuse box access. However, I found a YouTube video from Etrailer.com that shows how difficult it really is. If I knew how much work it is and removed the body panels on my new car, I wouldn't do it. At least the video is very well done. Great wiring harness on YouTube videoEtrailer.com[.]

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Definitely bad product

Pain but works (2019 Ford Transit Connect)

MUST WATCH THE ETRAILER YOUTUBE VIDEO FIRST. and connected to the battery. Took me four hours, but a second pair of hands would have cut it by at least an hour. I've also changed the hot wire gasket a few times. The only remaining problem is the ground sleeve (plug). The video shows a rubber bushing. Well mine was plastic and fell apart so now we have to look for a replacement. The passenger side rear hub has a precision sized rubber bushing. The Ford parts department ordered them for me (4…

Doesn't work on first use.

Components were installed according to the instructions provided. Installation was relatively easy and straightforward. After installation in August 2018, the product was not used as a power source for lighting a small trailer until October 2020. When connected to trailer connector T1, there was no output from the converter. Module. Power was measured at the input, power at the output was not detected. To continue towing the trailer, the converter module was removed and independent wire…

Great product but a redesign would be nice

Perfect for a van. Work trolley in panel design. easy-to-understand requirements 1 - Redesign reduces installation time to 10 minutes 2 - Installation requires installing the box on the driver's side. If they lengthened the driver's side fork to the length of the others, you could make the installation easier. The 12V heater wire is located on the passenger side behind the panel. The ground connection uses a 10mm socket and is also located on the passenger side. The best part about this…

Left and right wiring must be swapped, .

The wiring on the left and right hand side should be reversed to allow the module to be installed on the right hand side of the van as there is already a factory hole in the floor on the right hand side to route the trailer wiring harness and the power cable from. Also, I would reverse the direction to route the wires on the other side above the doors instead of routing them under the door panel, leaving the wires exposed on both ends of the panel. As soon as the power cord reached the battery,

It works but has been adjusted to fit the wrong side of the van

Good start: Works as expected and all connectors are correctly aligned. The Bad: (This was configured for the wrong side of the car) The aux power cable required for this kit is a headache. The length is tailored to fit along the driver's side of the van where you need to avoid heat from the exhaust system. I've made it as far as I can, but I have doubts about how long it will be before the combination of heat and vibration affects the insulation. I will replace this with a longer cable on the…

How can I judge this objectively?

I ordered a 2015 Transit Connect Kit which I have. My Transit Connect did NOT have the ports that this kit was supposed to fit. The kit might be under warranty, but it still worked. As stated in the instructions in the text and in the pictures, there was no wiring harness connection on the back of my van. I found some other wiring harnesses unrelated but none for the lighting. I decided to just cut off the wiring harness connectors from the kit and do the good old fashioned wiring the hard way,
